Susan's Bio
Susan H. Garrett, BM, MEd, is the teacher/tutor for you. She earned her bachelor's degree in music education, with concentrations in both piano and voice, from Delta State University in Mississippi. Upon her graduation, she taught public school music in Augusta, GA, Meridian, MS, and Pascagoula, MS, for several years.
After taking a year off from teaching and working in the public sector, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg where she earned her master's degree in special education with a specialization in learning disabilities. After graduation, she returned to Pascagoula, MS, and taught special education at Jackson and Arlington Elementary Schools there for several years. Her last three years in the Pascagoula Municipal Separate School District, she served as a district-wide special education teacher consultant and assistant to the director of special education.
After her marriage to John Garrett, she and her husband moved to Spring, TX. In Spring she taught at Ponderosa Elementary School for a couple of yours until she and her husband welcomed their first child into their lives, at which time she became a full-time mom.
